What is the HardieZone® System by James Hardie®?
We’re a proud carrier of James Hardie® fiber cement siding, a product we always recommend to our home remodeling clients. That’s because this material has been tried and tested time and time again and always delivers excellent performance. One of the reasons James Hardie siding is the best in the industry is due to the benefits of the HardieZone® system. Learn more about it here.
What Is the HardieZone system?
The HardieZone system is James Hardie’s proprietary system that ranks each product in terms of its climate adaptability. Siding that produced under this system is ranked by how effectively it will work long-term in a given environment. This system has allowed for the development of scientifically engineered materials that are designed to perform efficiently in a variety of climate zones.
How Can HZ5® Help?
This line of products are designed for what James Hardie designates as climate zones one through five. These zones encounter cold temperatures and plenty of snow and ice that can affect the adhesion of the siding installation. HZ5 siding is designed to counter these specific challenges, and is engineered to resist precipitation generally.
How About HZ10®?
On the other end of the spectrum are climate zones that encounter abundant sunshine and face the risk of hurricanes. The issues encountered by homeowners in this climate zone are vastly different from homeowners in climate zones one through five.
That’s where HZ10 comes into play. As far as James Hardie siding products go, these are some of the strongest products in the market, resisting moisture-induced rot and wind-induced structural damage. And since these regions are exposed to plenty of sunlight, HZ10 siding is also made with ColorPlus technology, which helps it resist color fading.
