The Key Benefits of James Hardie® ColorPlus® Technology

The Key Benefits of James Hardie ColorPlus TechnologyAs a homeowner, you want a siding product with beautiful, long-lasting color that doesn’t need to be frequently reapplied. Fortunately, you can achieve this with James Hardie® fiber cement siding, thanks to the manufacturer’s ColorPlus® Technology. This innovative feature makes siding replacement one less home remodeling project to worry about in the future.

What Is ColorPlus Technology?

ColorPlus Technology is an exclusive color application process used by James Hardie on all their siding products, including the popular HardiePlank® siding and HardieTrim® boards. The factory-applied colors have 50% more coats of paint than the average paint products used on traditional siding. The colors are then baked and cured, resulting in an exceptionally durable finish. ColorPlus Technology also features protection against ultraviolet (UV) rays, making it fade-resistant.

What do these features mean for you, the homeowner? First of all, they mean an end to scraping and repainting your siding. The siding won’t chip, peel or crack. It will stay vibrant throughout its lifespan and will only require minimal maintenance. Considering that James Hardie fiber cement siding products have comparatively long lifespans, you won’t have to worry about another siding installation for a long time.

What Colors Are Available?

You can choose virtually any color that your exterior design calls for. To show you what you can do with ColorPlus Technology, here’s a list of color palettes, curated by James Hardie’s color experts:

  • Warm Colors: Meant to evoke natural colors, these include reds, oranges and yellows. This palette is often seen in Mediterranean architecture, complementing red tile roofs, but it also looks beautiful on Craftsman-style homes.

  • Cool Colors: Shades of blue evoke calmness and serenity. Cool colors are often seen on homes in coastal areas, but also look great with dark-colored roofs.

  • Fresh Colors: Perhaps you’re after summer colors and a vibrant feel. Shades of yellow and green are a great combination, and work well with homes surrounded by beautiful landscaping or a lush forest. They also help make your home stand out during fall.

  • Light Colors: White and soft pastels create a crisp, clean and stately feel that’s great for traditional architecture. Light-colored exteriors also improve your home’s energy efficiency by reflecting sunlight away from the home rather than absorbing it.

  • Dark Colors: More and more homes, especially in urban areas, are using dark colors for a sense of stately elegance or a more contemporary look.

  • Neutral Colors: If you want your front door or your landscaping to stand out, then neutral colors are an excellent choice.

Whatever colors you ultimately choose, you can expect to enjoy them for a long time. To learn more about James Hardie siding, call Colonial Remodeling today at (703) 822-7222. You can also fill out our contact form to schedule your free consultation. We serve many areas in and near Arlington, VA.
